Paint Coating Systems
Custom Designed to your Requirements
What Is a Paint Finishing System?
Paint finishing has been utilized for metal, aluminum, and plastic parts throughout the years.
Paint Coatings can be applied in a variety of thicknesses
Costs less
Color match is easier
Can be cured quickly
Utilized when sensitive materials or large materials/parts which will not fit into ovens or are not easily moved
Due to painting’s versatility and highly customizable nature, the demand for it has never wavered nor will decline in the foreseeable future. Paint finishing is ideal for a multitude of protective, aesthetic, and production purposes.
Equipment Used in Paint Finishing
Paint coating may either be applied through a handheld or automated device. We use different equipment for every step of the process from mixing, feeding, application, and control. Choosing the right pump, manual or automatic air spray gun booth, mixing & dosing unit, and lastly, a controlling device is paramount to an effective industrial finishing system.
Pretreament
Pretreatment and cleaning are important because surfaces need to be decontaminated before finishing.
Conversion coating is the key for long-lasting painted materials. This process has been accomplished for a long time now using iron-phosphate or zinc. However, a phosphate-free technology has been making its rounds in the industry today and looks to be promising as well.
Aqueous cleaning is the most prominent approach amongst highly utilized practices. The process is completed with proper rinsing before moving on.
Application
There are several options:
Spray Guns are used to apply paint finishings using highly pressurized air. Spray guns propel atomized paint coating material on the required surfaces.
Low-pressure but high-volume spray guns result in a more controlled application.
Airless electrostatic-based spray guns have also made their way into the industry and are quite effective for metal workpieces.
Our experts will select the best option.
Curing
Paint coatings can air dry on many applications.
For faster curing we may utilize ovens that heat up between 130-170 degrees F.
Solvent-Borne Coatings
Solvent-borne coating is made up of organic compounds. It effectively protects the surface that it is applied to against corrosion.
This type of coating is very resilient, especially in the curing stage. This makes it an ideal choice when working in humid environments.
Solvent-borne coating is also environmentally friendly when combined with the right abatement equipment. It’s in high demand for industrial equipment painting.
Water-Borne Coatings
Water-borne coating is getting a lot more popular due to technological advances. The process uses water as its solvent for the dispersion of the resin needed for the coating.
It’s quite easy to apply and also very environmentally friendly. It’s commonly applied in plastic, wood, automotive, concrete, and furniture.
It’s very prevalent and often utilized side by side with other relevant industrial painting equipment.
High Solids
High Solids Coating refers to a single or two-component finishing.
This method yields higher concentrations of solid components such as binders, additives, and pigments than the usual coating without compromising quality.
High Solids coating emits less solvent when curing so it’s also environmentally friendly.
Advantages of Paint Coating vs Powder Coating
Flexibility
A more versatile option and can be applied to a lot of different materials. This is due to paint’s ability to bind in a lot of substrates and surfaces and that it can be applied in just about any level of coating desired.
Ability to Repair
Paint coating has properties that will not only improve the aesthetic of a surface or material but at the same time protect and repair it.
UV Stability
Another huge plus for paint coating is that it protects your surfaces effectively from moisture, UV rays, and chemicals.
Faster Color Change
Paint coating enables color matching at the same time it protects the surface from corrosion, scratching, and chemical exposure.
Easier to Obtain Thin Film
We can apply paint coating in any thickness level that works for any surface.
Paints can be Mixed for Color Creation, so Color Variation is Better
Paint can be easily manipulated and create the right hue that you want to achieve. The possibilities are endless.
Cost Effective
Paint coating is a practical solution if the size and geometry of the parts of the material are posing to be a problem. It’s an inexpensive option since less coating is necessary.
Compatible With More Surfaces and Substrates
A huge reason for its versatility is that it can be applied to almost all substrates. It can also be applied with a powder coat or electrocoat.
Can be Low VOC for Safer Air Quality
Paint finishing has also been proven to be environmentally friendly due to low VOC content. Any material finished with it can then be used in regulated areas.
Oven-less Curing is an Option
Paint coating only requires to be air-dried with no complications whatsoever to its properties, so no oven is needed for curing. This is a possible solution for production levels that are low.
